Synapsida

Synapsida

Overview

Synapsids include the mammals, which are endothermic (warm-blooded) tetrapods, or animals with four limbs. All mammals produce milk for their young and are at least partially covered in hair or fur. Although mammals inhabit a range of environments, they have become the dominant terrestrial animal group after the K-T extinction that wiped out the dinosaurs 66 million years ago.
