Reptilia

Reptilia

Overview

Class reptilia includes snakes, lizards, crocodiles, alligators, and turtles. They are cold-blooded, therefore relying on external sources to regulate body temperature, and range from aquatic, semi-aquatic, to terrestrial environments. They also lay amniotic (hard-shelled) eggs, which allows them to reproduce on land. Reptilians have existed since the Carboniferous Period (+350 million years ago).
