According to Kennedy and Cobban (1990a): Texas and Cenomanian of “southern India, Angola, Haute-Normandie in France, [and] Devon, England" (p. 85).

Original presentation: Ammonites involvulus Stoliczka, 1865

Original publication: Stoliczka. 1865. [p. 150, pl. 75, fig. 1].

Holotype: “is Stoliczka’s original specimen (1865 pl. 75, fig. 1)” (Kennedy and Cobban, 1990a, p. 85).

Type locality: South India (Kennedy and Cobban, 1990a).

Type horizon: Utatur Group (Kennedy and Cobban, 1990a).

Other specimens: USNM 420184.
